Pros

Advancement could be gained if you were willing to work and work and work.

Cons

But in the end, even those willing to give it all for the company are tossed out onto the street leaving a senior management that over the years ran the company with their short term bonuses in mind and no real concern for real leadership and communication.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Most of the original senior management is gone with their golden parachutes so I would advise the new crop to actually plan and execute well thought-out strategies that are actually communicated to the people that work for the company. Have a mission statement that workers can really buy into. Senior management proclaimed it's long term mission statement as "Bad Pictures, on Bad Paper, Yields Big Profits." How disappointing to those that worked under such profound leadership.

    Bad pay and constant upheaval

    Pros

There's not a lot of good things to say about this company, and there is nothing great about it. The biggest perk is working from home and being able to set your own schedule around your customers. Management in the field is generally liked but caught between a rock and a hard place with corporate, which has a bad reputation.

    Cons

Ever since the split, this company has been going down the drain. Yeah, the economy is poor, but the biggest problem is the general mismanagement of the business and lack of foresight. I've had my sales territory changed/adjusted/deployed five times in four years. You would think there's enough in the news out there for management to figure out they shouldn't be taking away opportunity. This is very frustrating in a commission-only job, no car/insurance allowance (you're supposed to take this as a perk since you can write it off), no entertainment budget for customers, and very small mileage reimbursement.

The other major problem is the products never work like they're supposed to - site down, leads not delivered, lots of product bugs, and nothing new and exciting to sell. Nobody cares about the customers at this company - its all about the $ - and customers are tired of buying a product that lets them down.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You should come down from your ivory tower in Virginia and spend some time with your customers and employees. You have a faceless company and your pay structure for sales people isn't competitive, which is why your turnover probably leads the industry.

    I worked at Dominion Enterprises

    Pros

I liked the products and we had a lot of good times. Then the economy changed and it was down hill. Tough times now but good times then

    Cons

The company made many bad investments in dumb businesses. The leaders can not seem to run them. Why buy it if you can not run it?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember that it is the people that make the difference. IT folks love to think they run the world, but companies need sales people to make any money. Don't get bullied by a few people that live in Virginia.
