If you like a company full of favortism and low moral, it's the place for you- Frankfort Plant

I have been working at Donaldson Company full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Descent but not great pay and benefits for the area. Up to five weeks vacation if you stick it out long enough. Company stock seems to be a good performer.

    Cons

Favortism seems to be common practice at the Frankfort plant. Upgrade jobs seem to be awarded to "golden" people that seem to appear to never do any wrong and hob nob with the management. Women with "assets" also seem to hire right in and get a good upgrade position. Some employees seem to be able to work their own hours as well as pick and choose when they want to work overtime. These same employees also seem to have unlimited internet access and do alot of non-work related internet use during working hours. The whole plant has a low morale and no one seems to be willing to help another employee that needs it. However everyone is more than willing to help "throw someone under the bus".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Replace the current management of this facility that has been here since January 1, 2012. Our plant manager and hr manager have already left in the last year and we just need to replace the rest of them, especially the operations manager. Most employees agree that he has been the main source of our morale problems. I invite the CEO and VP of human resources to show up someday unanounced and take a look around and remove these so called managers in front of everyone. That would be the best morale booster we could possibly have.

I worked at Donaldson Company full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The company still has good products based on technology developed years ago and the pay is reasonable in a good location.

    Cons

Experience, patents, and value added activities are overshadowed by politics and back stabbing. Many managers don't understand the products or processes, but are good at puting together timelines and presentations. The focus is on cost reduction and repackaging old technology rather than product development.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Update your policies so unhappy talented employees can move to other departments, and don't be afraid to correct bad decisions / promotions. You will find the talented "little guys" are more motivated and able to immediately able to contribute when allowed.
