I have been working at Dow AgroSciences full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Collegial atmosphere, ability to pursue different career paths, family-friendly, extremely big on safety. Dow AgroSciences is a small company compared to peers in the AgBiotech space, but being part of the bigger Dow Chemical Co., we get a lot of leverage. Love it.

Cons

You do not need an MBA to be a business leader, nor a PhD to be a scientist! Promotions are perhaps a tad slow to come by.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Avoid personal priorities, and shun politics although little

I worked at Dow AgroSciences as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

I worked in R&D department at DAS as an intern in summer 2010. I liked it a lot. The company was very considerate in every aspect. I learned a lot there in both science and business. It was absolutely one of my best experiences in my PhD studies.

    Cons

I honestly couldn't think of any cons. If there was any, the free shuttle seemed to only run once after work, which was a little bit inconvenient if you missed it.

I worked at Dow AgroSciences full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Large company
Ability to contribute and be part of the team even at an entry level position
    Lot's of learning opportunities
    Great supervisors
Great benefits (health, stock plan, etc)

    Cons

Little room to move up/be promoted if starting at entry level (BS) position
Weekend work for entry level positions
    Monotonous
Lot's of pressure to keep output high

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide clear/obvious ways that entry level employees with a BS can move up in company. Was a dead-end job for me because of a lack of this.
