Pros

After Rupert Murdoch's News Corp scandal, the company has taken greater efforts to appear transparent, and provide information top-down about initiatives they are pursuing. There is also some opportunity for training if relevant to your job and approved by your manager.

Cons

There is a good deal of turnover at all levels. The environment is political and built upon developing networks, so there is a good deal of ingratiation. At the 1155 building location, the environment is not dynamic. Normally very subdued and stifled. This is the type of place one works at for a year for a title and perhaps a few connections before moving to a more senior management position elsewhere.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

True commitment to team building (not just emails or an annual mention in a speech) might help engender camaraderie and productive engagement within and between work groups. This could take the form of a periodic (bi-monthly?) meeting highlighting the performance of teams, training, or traditional team-building activities. Currently there is very little real follow-up for these types of programs currently.

The employee reviews are well constructed, however it would be helpful to have better follow-up with real incentives (or consequences) for later performance. And when possible, responsibilities should be managed based on areas of strength or opportunities for improvement.
