I have been working at Dresser Wayne
Pros – Benefits, autonomy to business unti managers. Unit managers are allowed to make decisions on p&l and budget process, revenue forcasts and are given freedom to run their business as they see fit in their local respective locations. Corporate is willing to listen to new ideas
Cons – Channel conflict and distributor sales network model is antiquated and requires a paradigm shift for the company to move into the next error of the Energy industry.Corporate structure does not allow for free flow of information, news, sales initiatives, new technologies, QA aspects to get easily to all locations and managers. Company should conduct quartery meetings and allow for managers to meet more frequesntly to compare notes and share ideas, success stories and the like
Advice to Senior Management – Eliminate the barriers for retrieving information, bring all managers into the loop on future developments and corporate vision, eliminate channel conflicts within sales, service and suppliers
