    Pros

    Strong graduate student support group; Health insurance is covered for full time graduate students; Numerous opportunities for career growth and development (including international links); Helpful professors and co-workers who will go out of there way to try to help other employees; very interdisciplinary and up-to-date approach to learning and education (especially the College of Engineering)

    Cons

    Need a little more diversity in a number of departments (faculty, students and staff); Graduate students do not have dental and eye insurance- will have to pay for own; No office designated to assist graduate students transitioning from academia to industry or postdoc in academia/federal research labs so you will have to do your own search around the university; Union groups and policies I've heard may financially drain a lot of research groups

    Advice to Management

    Focus more on innovation and research- that's what the university has been known for; management needs to support growth of other departments but also has to hear the clamor for support from graduate students as well as the staff other than those in higher level positions;

  2. Very good experience

    Pros

    Small university-a very good environment for research-located at center of Philadelphia- a lot of opportunities- advanced instruments are available for research-

    Cons

    The lab and office spaces are limited which causes a lot problems for doing research. The area at which the university is located is not very safe and you have to live far from the campus.
