Pros

Rapidly growing organization, creating lots of opportunity for its people. Management is focused in the right areas and the business, while not without its challenges, is thriving. As a woman, very much so committed to equal opportunity. I've never felt deterred by my gender and have been rewarded "handsomely" for my contributions and hard work. Company values are strong and vision is exciting and motivating.

Cons

Rapid growth creates opportunities, but also can feel too fast (head spinning) at times.

Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing: you're focused in the right areas, even though execution isn't always perfect (never is). Empower your people to do more, holding them accountable for their own personal and professional growth.

Tremendous opportunity bogged down by politics and favoritism...Not too late to right the ship!

    Pros

Health care benefits, flex schedule, fitness classes, free snacks, interesting and challenging business issues. World class product and lots of market share. Passionate people who are the salt of the earth.

    Cons

Favoritism is rampant within the company as the old employees and family members jockey for their slice of the pie on the backs of newer employees. Employee stock and plum assignments are given to the chosen few who are polished with the senior leaders but often lack substance and actual leadership ability for a company this complex. Pay for performance doesn't exist. Many in key leadership roles are in over their heads as the company growth has outpaced the talent in place, many employees frustrated in bringing about the changes actually needed.

    Advice to Management

Get out of the board rooms and roll up your sleeves, listen to the various work teams (talent mgmt., marketing, supply chain etc.), and folks who actually do the work of bring this company forward. Many team members do not create value but are promoted beyond their capabilities compared to other companies. Directors and VP's with little experience running a business of this size and/or created individual value other than highlighting the work others have accomplished. When it comes to company values walk the talk!

    Pros

Good product and market share. Senior managers steering into the right direction. Quality of commodities and customer satisfaction are major drivers in decision making. Going global is not easy, and company is behind the growing curve by a bit, business model is close to maturity.

    Cons

Bonus is not related to performance. A lot of disconnect between strategies and execution. Need to strengthen HQ to support global on a larger scale.

    Advice to Management

Work on retaining employees more. There's a disconnect between performance and compensation/bonus. employees work really long hours impacting on work/personal life balance.
