Started out fine got bad really fast.

Pros

Fairly easy work
Work independently
Get hired quickly

Cons

Low pay
No benefits
Don't pay travel time or milage
Don't pay for printing costs
Don't pay for time entering assignment
info into an obsolete system
Poor communication
No Training
Slow to enter payroll

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider milage and drive time compensation. There is a reason people quit, figure it out.
Get in the field and try to do some of these assignments in the time frame you expect.
Invest in some new technology

    Pros

    It is still money when you get paid, however it is usually less than you actually work, there is some flexibility

    Cons

    Not compensated for mileage (argue over how far) not paid for any drive time. Not paid for time it takes to enter info on the cumbersome IVR system (computer time) Not reimbursed for reams of paper for (required) printing off projects. Despite regular emails to immediate supervisor and their boss questions go unanswered; schedules have no flexibility despite a 2012 directive saying they would follow your profile. Poor communication, one can call the office, however answers are not forth coming. All assignments given via login on the computer and sometimes these assignments are gone from schedule when trying to input work completed

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Need for contact for employees in the field, no one above supervisor. There is no HR dept. available, info sent to supervisor falls on deaf ears. Compensation is not paid for all work performed. Do not threaten employment if the tone of an email is not to ones' liking. Show some genuine concern for the work force

    Pros

    - Flexible schedule; set your own schedule
    - Usually work independently
    - Get to work in different locations
    - Can usually get time off when requested
    - Overall, hassle-free environment

    Cons

    - Extremely low pay
    - Have to use your own vehicle for assignments but won't get reimbursed unless you drive over 40 miles, so there's a lot of wear and tear on your vehicle.
    - No benefits or supplemental medical/dental
    - Very little to no training. You're pretty much expected to learn as you go even if you've never done a particular assignment before.
    - No performance reviews given so you're unaware of your progress or lack thereof
    - Requires a lot of printing and there's no reimbursement for printing costs

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Should at least provide some training. Could provide instructional videos on each assignment when required to complete certifications. Could also consider having a mentor accompany you on all first-time assignments to ensure jobs are done consistently and accurately.
    - Should consider either increasing pay or implementing a printing/mileage reimbursement program to supplement the operating expenses required to conduct assignments. This is especially true since employees receive no medical benefits.
    - Should also make job board more user friendly by reducing the amount of paper needed to take to stores. Can do this by posting one set of instructions if working in multiple stores.
