I have been working at DuCharme, McMillen & Associates full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good company to work for. Very flexible.

Great training. Rapid companywide growth allows for advancement opportunity. Insightful feedback.

Vacation package is nice and starts very soon after the start of employment.

    Cons

A lot of isolation between offices, makes communicating issues and getting resolution a lengthy process.

Salaries are not competitive, many qualified employees leave for more money elsewhere.

Heavy workload during busy season means a lot of overtime hours.

Rapid growth and expanded client maintenance responsibilities on senior level producers means much heavier workload for mid-level producers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on quicker response times to employee inquiries.

More office/regional team building efforts would help moral and mitigate "busy season" stress.

Seasonal administrative help would be beneficial at the regional offices (maybe an intern!).

I have been working at DuCharme, McMillen & Associates full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible Hours
    Work-life balance
Good job for people right out of college
    Beautiful facility

    Cons

    - Low pay versus similar positions / competition
    - If you want to move up in this company, make sure you kiss up to management! The person who is the best candidate almost never gets promoted. The person who kisses up the most does.
    - Lots of politics - Example: A couple of years ago, the manager only gave out raises to people she was friends with since they couldn't afford to give everyone raises (luckily I was one of those people). This was found out because everyone talks about their pay. Everyone kind of put two and two together. If she didn't like you, you didn't get a raise.
    - Employee moral is low due to recent events: A few months ago, we had a meeting in which management stated that they knew we were payed on the low end and they were going to fix that by increasing the pay scale for all positions to match competition. This was great until the new year came and we all got insulting raises and were told they couldn't afford the pay scale increase. The worst part of it is, they did end up rolling out the pay scale increase, but only to new hires! There are new hires who make more then people who are in higher positions and have been there for years (again we know because everyone talks about their pay here).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - First of all, stop making fake reviews about your company on this site. It's pretty obvious because there are several glowing reviews written on the same day.
    - Raise pay and expectations. Increase pay but demand better out of people. This will increase productivity and moral. Also, when you raise pay, you will get better people applying for your jobs! There have been several great candidates that turned down an offer due to the pay.
    - Promote the most qualified candidates, not just your buddies.
    - Keep up the excellent work-life balance and beautiful new facility.

    No opinion of CEO
