Pros

Good place to work if you wand a “job” where mediocre work is treated the same as hard work. Seams like DuPont is not interested in hiring the best and the brightest. If this is you, then DuPont is a great fit.

Cons

Slow to respond to changing business environment. Talent is not rewarded. Management is only now trying to address the growing disillusionment of medium to long term professionals. “To little to late” is the common sentiment of engineers and other professionals that are leaving after 2 to 10 years with the company to get similar jobs in the same region for much higher pay.

Advice to Management

Stop relying on your reputation as a solid company, and pay comparable salaries to you talent.

    Pros

Challenging assignments really push engineers technically. Very safety-focused. Stable employment. Wide variety of opportunities within the various businesses. Many businesses are really at the cutting edge of technology.

    Cons

Salary is average. Very little take-home incentive to over-achieve as a young engineer. Projects follow a "rush and stop" flow a lot of the time. Good performers are rewarded with more work and longer hours.

    Advice to Management

Ensure adequate pay for your top employees. In other words, provide a larger incentive for excellent performance. The only way to recruit the best of the best out of school is to provide a financially-strong offer.

  2. Not a leader anymore and not a very good 'follower'

    Pros

History of company discoveries has helped many but that is in the past. Safety of employees is still strong.

    Cons

Major law suits in the past few years is very disappointing. Management spends more time doing "coverup work" than fixing the problems. Benefits are not good and getting worst. Pay, based on hours in a work week is very poor!!

    Advice to Management

Move on and let someone else lead us
