I have been working at Duff & Phelps

Pros

The people at Duff & Phelps are great. Time is fairly flexable, but a lot is expected of each employee.

Cons

Due to poor economy comp has been disappointing. This has causes people to leave the company and work falls on the sholders of those who stay.

    Pros

Duff and Phelps is a great place to develop a strong skill set which can be leveraged as an asset towards career advancement.

    Cons

Because the services provided at Duff and Phelps are more ancillary and audit like the fees that the company charge are not that great, in turn the salaries are capped at a lower level than deserved.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase the work life balance of the employees or increase the salaries. The company should not have gone public because now there is too much of an emphasis on the profit margin rather than the employees.

Has its challenges but overall a good work experience.

I have been working at Duff & Phelps

    Pros

Great client base. Many opportunities to learn and stretch for greater responsibility. Collegial environment in most cases. Generally personable and grounded co-workers.

    Cons

Under-developed performance review culture. At times little cooperation at senior levels of management due to individual interests. Hours can at times be long. Bonus compensation often viewed as average or below average. Culture across cities can often by very different. Public company status can result in management overly focusing on short-term results.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Resist the urge to focus on short-term results and focus on most effective ways to increase shareholder value in the long term. Closely scrutinize and review compensation practices.
