I have been working at Duke Energy

    Pros

Paid well, 401K match as a co-op, good organization, offers opportunities to succeed in the Carolinas, laid back environment and flexibility

    Cons

No room for growth in Duke Energy Ohio, the Carolinas is where the money seems to have been made and the job was not interesting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to get feedback from co-ops in order to figure out if they like the job they're performing. Work to maybe send them to a different group within the company.

    Pros

Benefits are great and you be treated correctly.

    Cons

it isn't a design company and the AP1000 probably isnt going to happen

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

good luck with the merger. Maybe you will re-evaluate the need to develop a high level academic team to assist with smart grid. Current employees do not possess the design capabilities necessary to implement such a system.
