Pros

Great benefits
Company is doing good things
Smart people
Entrepreneurial

Cons

Lots of red tape, complicated
Low pay compared to other universities in the area and nationally
Department rules can deviate from university standards

Advice to Management

I would suggest that the University HR have more control regarding work/life balance initiatives throughout the university. Different divisions can really make it miserable even though it is a company initiative. Bringing the salaries up-to-date would be a really good plan if you want to keep good people. Also, 360 evaluations of managers would be a really good idea!
