E*TRADE Financial Senior Product Manager in Menlo Park, CA:   (Past Employee - 2007)

Pros

At E*TRADE, almost anyone can have the opportunity to take the lead on an initiative, whether initiated by others or their own. You can quickly go up a learning curve and develop new skills. It's fairly easy to get a cross-functional education and transition to work in different roles and departments. You have the opportunity to work on industry-leading creative, innovative products and services.

Cons

Most of E*TRADE works at an extremely fast pace and can be a very chaotic environment that often leads to unecessary mistakes. Smoe may not appreciate the effect of this on the user experience. This can also lead to inconsistent rewards and recognition for employees, and can be too agressive a culture for some.

Advice to Senior Management

Pay closer attention to and reward more fairly the many talented individual contributors who build and maintain the exceptional products and service
