Former Employee - Territory Sales Manager in Roanoke, VA
Former Employee - Territory Sales Manager in Roanoke, VA

I worked at EBSCO Publishing full-time (less than an year)

Pros

Very simple product to learn and sell. The interview process and training was easy. I was a Territory Manager / Sales.

Cons

On ride days, my Manager displayed strange, demeaning and unprofessional behavior.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

I very carefully gave upper management the opportunity to know more about my manager's behavior. They did not care or want to know. They would not even acknowledge that it existed. This represented a serious red flag.

Former Employee - Content Quality Auditor in Ipswich, MA

I worked at EBSCO Publishing full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Friendly work atmosphere
    Environmentally conscious
    Good benefits
    Location

    Cons

    Very low salary/wages
Miniscule raises, if any at all
Extremely cheap for a thriving company
Shocking lack of communication from management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are dozens of open positions but you're not offering enough money to potential employees. That's why they remain open for so long. You need to communicate with your employees better about organizational restructuring. You have a very callous way of laying off people. During Editorial's reorganization my responsibilities changed so drastically that my job was 100% different than it was just a couple weeks. I took on additional tasks and quickly learned new procedures and software. What did I get for my efforts? A raise? No. Any kind of appreciation? No. I got laid off. Thanks very much. You need to treat your employees better.
