I have been working at ECPI College of Technology

Pros

It is barely better than being unemployed. This job is the equivalent to working at a Burger Barn or any job at the mall.

Cons

Everything. The environment, the pay, the location, the administration, the corporate culture and the corporate staff.

This place is run like a high school: cliques, nepotism, retaliation and micro management. Administration constantly changes and so do all the rules. Major decisions are based on emotions and mood swings instead of feasibility or rationale. Employees are consistently mistreated, overworked and verbally abused. Preference is given to male employees while female staffers get walked over and underpaid.

Students are set up to fail too and their concerns are ignored. The bar is lowered to let them in and then the boom is lowered when they get in-- no one at ECPI is allowed to care. Education department gets kicks out of seeing students struggle and fail. Only concern is making numbers-- all this while executive management does absolutely NOTHING. Except of course, count the money rolling in.

    Pros

pay is what you negotiate, inside ( not out in the sun), students are awesome, most teachers actually care

    Cons

management is weak , no room for advancement, this is mainly telesales with a used car get them in and hard close them when they come in., unfortunately this muddy's the water in actually trying to help some one advance in life with trying to close them to get the sale. No bonus until one year after ( that's if the student does not drop out).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

learn to manage and actually care about your staff. Bulling is no way to motivate nor manage. I feel sad for the management there. Dreyfus does not care , if he did he would fire the manager at this location.

    Pros

    pay was decent
hours were regular, nothing extremely late/early
    loved my co-workers

    Cons

several employees were let go including myself, at very difficult times in their lives, without being told why. it turned out that they let them go so that they could afford to bring an old employee back. that employee ended up leaving again anyway. it was very unprofessional, the management has gone downhill since the old provost left a few years back. were made to work christmas eve, day before thanksgiving, other crazy days when no students were in the building. a lot was asked, minimal was returned.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    bring the old provost back
remember that what goes around, comes around.
