Former Employee - Retentions Agent in Worthing, South East England, England (UK)

I worked at EDF Energy full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Good salary and commission, incentives and a lot of opportunity for overtime. Safe and secure lifestyle, unless you're caught doing something wrong (there are lots of rules)

Cons

High school style discipline, anal management, over-the-top processes and regulations. Can you see yourself sitting on a phone until you're 60?

Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Sponsorship, Large number of collegues in placements, good team dynamics.

    Cons

The work given was much worse than many of employees similar to my experience, HR system is useless, Given to little to do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you are to have placement students, use them, they can do things. Dont treat them as permenant employees through HR

I worked at EDF Energy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They have strong values and good working practices. There is some great talent there that is really focused on improving the industry.

    Cons

Still quite a few people with the old public sector mentality who don't like change and they are holding back talent from growing and making the company a better place

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make all your restructuring exercises effective and keep the right people that will help the company grow. Too many 'old-school' people that are out of date now in today's environment.
