I worked at EMC full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Fast-paced, challenging environment
Operationally efficient
Competitive salaries
Great training programs
Great benefits
Lots of very intelligent people
Opportunities for advancement
Cons – Very male-dominated culture
Many promotions are made based on personal relationships, rather than competence
Some unethical business practices
Lots of pressure to win by any means necessary
Advice to Senior Management – There is a lot of pressure to engage in questionable or unethical business practices in order to achieve goals. This culture comes from the top. Managers need to set a better example and not tolerate or reward bad behavior.
