Current Employee – been working at EMC full-time for more than 10 years

Pros – Still a growing company so there is opportunity for those who want to find it. Good leadership with clear vision have carved out a unique identity in the industry. Financial strength creates possibilities for the future. Stable succession plan in place.

Cons – Culture has evolved since the days of Dick Egan and some of the executives are more self-serving than in the past, plus there are a lot more of them. Decision-making is slower and communication between manager and IC levels is poor in some areas of the company. Everyone's My Cousin still applies.

Advice to Senior Management – Hold executive relatives and referrals accountable for performance or manage them out like any other employee. For those reading this, it's a nit in an otherwise quality company but it is an opportunity for improvement. Improve communication from middle management to IC level.
