“EMC Design Engineering review”
Current Employee – been working at EMC
Pros – Great benefits.
Company has a long bright future.
Flexible hours and some work groups allow employees to work at home.
Cons – Designs based on the "off the shelf" model stifles HW inovation (to put this into proper perspective, this may be good for the business but reduces personal satisfaction as an engineer).
You may also have to support a number of outsourcing and off-shoring projects. This may not be terribly motivating.
Advice to Senior Management – In addition to meeting aggressive schedules, please focus on your employees career development. Additionally, regardless of the size of your team or department, it should be your regular practice to publicly recognize the efforts of your staff.
