Current Employee - Material Handler

Pros

Flexible with your schedule. Its a job in this rough economy.

Cons

Will give you added responsibilty without pay increase. Have to beg for a pay increase. Training is never receieved. Partially reasoning is because operation engineer is not familiar with our individual jobs so he is not aware of how to support us with proper training. The manager has a temper beyond belief. Cares less about the people that work under him. VERY obvious. Supervisors will "throw you under the bus" if they do not like you. Biggest CON is the unethical behavior displayed.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take some business classes to understand the ethics and knowledge in regard to properly work with employees.

    Pros

Growing Company and sound business strategies were employed to protect against economy fluctuations. Good people who work hard and take pride in being the best at what they do.

    Cons

Too big to really get your hands around. Being publically traded sometimes put strain on the operations and prevented senior management form really being invovled in some of the operating units.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Continue to diversify

    Pros

It's a large company, so the benefits are good. They stand behind their employees, especially when dealing with difficult customers.

    Cons

Lack of communication from senior management to employees, resulted in a feeling that there was a lack of leadership and direction.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

EMCOR is a good place to work, there was a nice balance between work and home time. Company communication to employees could be improved.
