Pros

The people, local, ability to grow quickly in any profession and have a greater impact on what you accomplish that you can not have at larger companies.

Cons

Lacks formal strategic planning, although general direction the company is heading is known. Company has experienced some growing pains due to fast growth in the past 3 years.

Advice to Management

Develop strategy for the company and communicate from the top down.

Financials look good but don't be fooled. Outlook is based on one big job and manipulated

    Pros

Can't think of any except for a few people on the admin side.

    Cons

High school "in-crowd" mentality, extremely hard to break into (if you want to).
Claims to be safety orientated. Trust me better to keep quite if you want to keep working..
Benefits- bad. Forced to be off at Christmas thru New Years. If you want to be paid you have to use the vacation YOU worked for. NO sick days (again make sure you read your lack of benefits.
Trust no-one and MAKE sure you get everything in print, funny how they will say pick up a phone and talk (really, make sure you follow through and get everything in print). If your an intelligent person who wants to use your skill and knowledge to grow...forget it. Everything here is done one or two persons way. Did not work so hard for so many years to be a yes man and a patsy.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes to the truth before you head the way so many others have....gone.

    Pros

I've had a positive experience working at ERRG. I've been exposed to a wide amount tasks that are either technical, construction, remediation, or management related. Compared to colleges at large businesses, I find I'm exposed to a wide number tasks each day so it's not redundant or boring. Some people complain they have to do too much management support (like procurement, financial tracking, etc.) . The more in touch you are with the day-to-day processes the easier it is to add value to the overall process.

    Cons

There is a lot of opportunity to do a wide variety of work and to move up for most staff. Because it is a small company advancement for senior staff appears limited. It seems like the company has lost and might lose strong senior staff unless the company is better about showing the path for them to advance/grow. Also, it does seem like there is a bit too much favoritisms with some staff that have been with the company a long time.

    Advice to Management

Work on sending a consistent message to the staff in the company, work cohesively as a team, and support your senior management/regional managers. Try not to let your own personal experiences with individuals influence your decisions too much.
