I have been working at ESET full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

No company is perfect – that being said, ESET has always collectively treated it’s employees with fairness and respect. The senior management values the employees, which can be clearly seen in the benefits / perks included with employment. There will always be rogue managers, but for the most part ESET’s mid-management team is fair and balanced and keeps things positive. Overall, ESET is a great place to work. Perks include monthly massages, on-site gym and showers, relaxation rooms, table-tennis, break rooms with cable, 16 days of pto/sick time, over 10 paid holidays and more...

Cons

At times stress levels can run high, and people need to learn to manage their demeanor more professionally.

Great people, but too bad product development doesn't happen at the SD office.

    I worked at ESET

    Pros

I had two great managers, and many really nice peers. Free flavia coffee/tea all day and fruit every morning. Ping pong table. Great (and frequent) company events.

    Cons

CS majors won't get to work on anything spectacular, so instead, they make little projects sound more amazing than they are. No one you know will have too much coding knowledge or experience. No dedicated parking is a hassle unless you win employee of the month every month.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It was a pleasure working with/for you. Keep improving the employee benefits and general lifestyle at ESET. Maybe a game room?

Work/Life Balance was great. A lot of smart friendly people. Enjoyed working with co-workers. Small startup atmosphere.

    I worked at ESET

    Pros

Small startup atmosphere within a growing successful company.
    Good work/life balance.
If you have a good director or manager, you might get promoted.
Salary was fair for some people. Bonuses were good.

    Cons

    lack of true leadership.
No real goals for the long term.
    Poor management at many levels.
US office treated as second class compared to Slovakian headquarters.
    Lots of low salaries.
    Boring work at times.
A lot of dead weight and people who don't deserve their positions.
A lot of managers who dont' know how to manage.
A lot of dead end jobs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Come to grips with the fact it's one company instead of the main company in Slovakia and second class citizens in San Diego.
Have real goals, real managers, real leadership.
Dump the dead weight and terrible managers and vps.
