Not bad for a temp position.

I worked at ESI International as a contractor for less than a year

Pros

Great place to get "professional workplace" experience that employers seem so keen on everyone having. People are friendly enough, there's a gym (if you're around long enough) and the walk from public transit is pretty painless. Also, they have a Keurig machine that everyone has access to, and a large cabinet stocked top to bottom with many types of K-cups :)

Cons

Not much transparency, very hierarchical.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just keep giving temps the opportunity to work and gain experience.

I worked at ESI International full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

There are some really great and smart people in both the Government and Commercial business units. This company may work for those who are 22-25 just looking for a job. Get your 2+ years in then move on.

    Cons

There is a lack of leadership and accountability at all levels of management that is a detriment to the solvency of the organization. A handful of people with a combined 35 years of tenure have left the government business unit in the last 5 months for other opportunities and the commercial unit isn't far behind. Proceed with caution.

Great place to learn and be professionally challenged if you're willing to put in as much as you get!

I have been working at ESI International full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

ESI genuinely cares about putting its customers first. The needs and requirements of the diverse customer base gets the proper attention it should. My department has grown in scope and opportunities since I've been here. Great place to learn and there seems to be more new jobs and chances for internal people to land new roles.

    Cons

There are a lot of very tenured people at ESI who seem more interested in saying no than listening to new ideas. Fortunately, more of these folks who seem to not care about what our clients are saying or asking for. They'd rather just keep things as they are.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please (keep) recognize and reward personal efforts and contributions. Definitely more details and plans seem to be shared, but keep the info coming. Mgmt seems to really seem willing to listen and hear new ideas.
