Pros

1. 60% of the market share 2. Lots of trainings and seminars 3. Always updated with recent developments 4. Lots of competent people from different areas of specialization.

Cons

Grading system, which allows each managers and seniors to put into quantitative measurement those qualitative characteristics are subjective as it depends on who among the managers and seniors are giving grades. Sometimes staff who has a grade of 3 had performed better than a staff with a grade of 3.5, and that is because their managers or seniors have different range on giving grades. Moreover, setting up a firm benchmark for the number of years before being promoted is not good as it does not allow staffs to reach their limit knowing that whatever they do there is this Firm benchmark and aside from the earlier fact that managers or seniors have different range on giving grades. Nevertheless, always do your best so that you won't have to experience these things come promotion. There is nothing that can influence your grade if you give your best for the job.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

-Pay is not bad (after some re-alignment fr 2 years of very low raises) -Training/Certification support -Brand recognition/prestige -It's a good job if you just got out of school

    Cons

-Counselor System/Management : this system, in my experience seems more of a political tool to micromanage employees and really put a bad taste in my mouth. Also, knowledge-sharing/coaching is almost non-existent on your projects. Those at the top have a distorted view of what goes on or the amount of work that staff/seniors put in to make them rich. -Politics: Finding meaningful work is almost impossible and a political game. The work they give you is mundane and requires virtually no thought process. It's a shame - they bring in some top talent and promise them the world and have them doing mindless tasks. And it's an endless cycle -if you do a good job at the mindless tasks then....drumroll... they give you more of the same mindless work! -Inconsistent Evaluation: This goes along with the politics of who gets staffed on what etc. People that get on the more mundane tasks get evaluations that are mediocre at best and those staffed on the more compelling work / have the opportunity to show their skill-set get rewarded. It's a shame but they definitely hold back a ton of smart people and have them chasing something that won't really turn into anything. When you look at your resume you'll realize that you really didn't contribute much. You'll just have that EY brand name to take with you.

    Advice to Management

Staff people fairly. Don't have the same people doing mundane work, transfer people in and out. Give fair evaluations and all the opportunity to succeed at what they enjoy. Learn how to manage projects better and allow people to be challenged and compelled to succeed. Show appreciation for hard work.
