Pros

Smart people and interesting clients. Generally pretty helpful in finding industries you are interested in working in.

Cons

Transparency. Senior leadership is less willing to say when they are balancing their work & life. They always want you to think they are working (24 hrs a day). This makes those at the lower level less willing to voice concerns about work/life balance

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more transparent with work/life balance issues (personally).

    I worked at EY

    Pros

Relationships and exposure to various industries, etc. Everyone respects E&Y experience on the resume. I truly believe E&Y is the best place I could have started my career out of college - no regrets. I suggest starting in financial audit rather than IT audit, assuming you are an accounting grad. It is easy to move over to IT audit later, but vice versa is tough.

    Cons

The work I did was very compliance oriented, and knowing that every hour is billed to the client (in theory) puts pressure on you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay managers and above a true market rate.
