Pros

-Work with all kinds of different people in teaming environments--a lot of great people to work with -Great educational resources to learn about accounting topics -Surprisingly, can be flexible during non-busy times -Help you to get a CPA and resume builder for the future

Cons

-Long hours -Tedious and administrative work can be a big part of the job -Hierarchical structure -Answers to the PCAOB, which is constantly coming out with new guidance

Advice to Management

Bring in more qualified individuals to shoulder the burden. Recent experienced hires have not been very helpful. May need to be willing to pay more.

    Pros

Stability and good people - you know when you will be promoted to the next rank and you pretty much know how much you will be making next year, which helps you to plan your personal life. Also, EY people are overall great to work with.

    Cons

Poor benefits and low pay - Dental coverage is extremely poor (only covers up to $1.2K a year). Also, considering the number of hours you put in, your base salary is always low and you don't get anything other than your base salary (spot-on bonus or the "recognition award" is de minimis). In SF bay area, you will never be able to afford a townhouse or a house until you're a Senior Manager 3 (i.e., your 11th year at EY, at which point you'll make approximately $130K)
