Former Employee - Assurance Intern in Detroit, MI

I worked at EY as an intern (less than an year)

Pros

Internship was very structured as far as scheduling and what my tasks would be. There was never a slow day, I was always busy, and always learning something new.

Cons

A few days involved some very expected intern work (copies, getting lunch, etc.), but everyone has to do this at some point. Have a good attitude about everything you're assigned and your team will appreciate you much more.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great work advising interns! Really enjoyed my internship.

I have been working at EY full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Once you're hired, longevity. Learning and coaching is abundant.

    Cons

This position does not have path of advancement, nor is there a performance bonus in place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider years of experience with the firm and advance rank through the four staff steps. It would be nice to have a goal to strive towards. Also, when policies are set, please include this position. Year after year, when compensation is discussed, the market analysis does not include this position, which consistently leads to very low percentage increases. Feedback reviews are consistently 4.
