Pros

EY offers great learning opportunities in a variety of industries. Team members are willing to teach and help other team members.

Cons

To be successful at the firm, you need to be willing to work long hours. Exit opps almost always offer higher pay and fewer hours. High turnover leaves those at the firm juggling multiple clients with insufficient resources.

Advice to Management

To better retain and attract employees, the firm needs to either:
A. Offer higher pay than competitors
B. Offer noticeably superior benefits than competitors.

    Pros

The company is great when it comes to work from home and time off. They added extra holidays in the summer which was a nice perk. Good opportunity to learn a variety of skills.

    Cons

Individual managers decide work from home policy so it can vary alot by department

  2. Excellent training, but don't stay too long.....

    Pros

Like all big 4 firms, the entry-level training is excellent, and access to diverse experiences is abundant. Level of responsibility growth generally outpaces industry.

    Cons

Equipped with world class training, employees easily find better work/life balance and substantially better pay and benefits within industry at the heavy-senior and young manager levels. It is also at these levels that training and mentorship sharply decline, and the performance expectations become terribly ambiguous. As a result; the good people leave, the bad people are forced to leave, and the mediocre become partners.

    Advice to Management

There has to be a better answer to the work/life balance, salary and benefit issues in order to compete with industry and keep the best and brightest. The initial investment has to be too prohibitive to let good people walk out the door.
