Current Employee - Senior Consultant in New York, NY

    Pros

Great development opportunities, chance to work in a wide variety of functions at a wide variety of clients. Your colleagues will care a great deal about doing excellent work.

    Cons

Work load can be too much, and partners will expect you to fill most of your spare time with additional development work. Enough is never enough. Also, advancement timing and compensation bumps are opaque.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't demand a 8am development call to start every day and happy hour to end every evening. People want to have some sort of lives away from work.

Current Employee - Manager in New York, NY

    Pros

Many different types of individuals with varying levels of outside experience. Provides an ideal environment to obtain different experiences and opportunities.

    Cons

Advisory practice can be viewed as a backstabbing environment which is driven by growth opportunities within the market. Leadership, more so those hoping to obtain leadership positions, are more focused on selling work rather than delivering quality; this tone seems to be set at the top by leadership of certain groups. On another note the advisory practice is a penny pinching environment; most of the employees are upset with pay.
