Pros

Great opportunities to get a taste of how the business world actually works, by working on different clients in different types of engagements. Rewarding career opportunities once you get a hang of the system. Supportive Senior Management

Cons

Lack of tight integration between the Firm's global practices, leading to lot of reinvention of the wheel. The work life takes a heavy toll over personal life due to erratic travel schedules, outside 9-5 demands

Advice to Management

Make a more sincere effort to improve work-life balance. Most good employees leave with the singular reason that they cannot balance work-life here.

    Pros

    - Get to audit multinational companies, listed companies, and private companies so you can obtain full scale of experience - Good IT system and has clear instruction on every audit steps - Get to act as a senior or manager role when you are in your first year - Get to learn how to compile financial reports and tax reports - Get to travel around but mostly to China

    Cons

    - Managers try not to let you claim for overtime or make you claim less overtime - In peak season, your overtime hours usually exceed 120 hours/month - A lot of office politics, especially among the management - Male management or superior, especially those who served in military before, treat other males subordinate with disrespect - Your pay is worse than working in McDonald - Most of the time you need to get in during weekend and holiday and sometime camp in the office - Very high turnover (like 30%/year), both in management level and in staff level

    Advice to Management

    - Treat those who work hard for you with some respect and give them the reward they deserve - Please spend more time on your work and less time on fighting each other - Do something with this common overtime phenomenon - Promote those who should be promote and admire those who dare to tell the truth

    Pros

Fantastic exposure, good learning environment, autonomy given at a junior level, big clients and fast progression if you are capable, very good colleagues, minimal office politics as progression is based on individual merit and not how many vacancies are in the level above you, One of the few big 4s that actually "tries" (at least on paper) to give employees a work-life balance e.g. EY 5-at-5

    Cons

Regardless of the location, the Big 4 usually pay less than the market. In addition, it is hard to get life/work balance when you work at Big 4.

    Advice to Management

n order to retain people working at the Big 4, the management should offer competitive financial packages compared to market.
