I have been working at EZCORP

Pros

EZCORP takes pride in its business and how it conducts itself. It chooses high quality employees and training can be described as complete. Customer interaction is always fun and the facilities are typically top-notch and provide a banking atmosphere rather than a typical payday loan store.

Cons

There is a glass ceiling of sorts between the Store Manager level and Area Manager level. In my experience, new Area Managers are not promoted from within, they are hired from outside. If you are working at the store level, do not expect to advance beyond this without proving that you are a superstar, top 2% performer with several years of experience and education to support it.

    I worked at EZCORP

    Pros

    Competitive salary with reasonable health benefits
    Good location with easy access to Mopac and Ben White
    Most of the entry level employees are very friendly

    Cons

    Horrible senior management, particularly in IT.
    No accountability
    No quality assurance
    No documented processes
    No support from senior management for new ideas
    Poor resources for executing job functions
    No training opportunities
    No advancement
    Very low morale

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Empower your employees by putting them in control of their success or failure. Stop setting your employees up for failure by setting realistic timelines for delivery. Set standards for work and hold people accountable to that standard. Treat people like adults, instead of being so dismissive and disrespectful. Be proactive, instead of reactive, when it comes to quality. Adopt new methods to work more efficiently, instead of simply asking people to work more hours. You lack true leadership and common sense at the senior management level.
