Former Employee - Ecommerce Team Member in Houston, TX
Former Employee - Ecommerce Team Member in Houston, TX

I worked at EZCORP full-time (more than an year)

Pros

- great discount on all products including jewelry! I saved hundreds of dollars during holiday season!
- coworkers are easygoing and good people

Cons

- weak commissions despite getting good sales numbers
- no advancement for ecommerce team members
- poor upper management support (actually, none at all)
- area manager is not up to date with the retail world nor the internet
- area manager has poor communication skills and doesn't seem to have any positive effect on stores

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Area managers, please actually DO something to support your stores. Emphasis on the DO. Educate pawnbrokers about buying better products. Stop buying outdated products and technology; no one will buy it, that is why items become aged! Corporate office, please hire an area manager who is competent, otherwise, their area will fail consistently and will be at the bottom. Area managers, follow through with your words and promises unless you don't want to be trusted.

    Former Employee - Operations Manager
    Former Employee - Operations Manager

I worked at EZCORP full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, growing and changing daily. Hourly employees can advance if they want to relocate since they are not opening new stores in Texas.

    Cons

People matter most is a core value, however when you are requiring them to produce double digit increases in revenue year over year regardless of the economy or the CFPB actions, good people leave. Always chasing the competition. New products or ideas come out months and even years after the competition has released.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Read the core values. Believe the core values. Practice the core values.
