Pros

Learned a lot, worked with great people, made many friends.

Cons

After 12+ years of service it is hard to use some or most of this expeiernce in any other Field.

    Pros

    Great branch manager and local teammates

    Cons

    Constant turn-over. 3 salespeople fired my first month with the company. EarthLink seems to hate salespeople. Not sure how they expect to gain new business. F 2F Training is decent but most training by webex which is terrible. Average length of time of sales person in my office was less than 6 months.

    Need to decide what you want to be when you grow up.

    I worked at EarthLink full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    A lot of vacation time, good benefits, 401k plan. A great marketing team, aggressive pricing, excellent escalation lists in place, excellent IT team.

    Cons

    Non flexibility with working from home, constant micro management, company is not doing well financially. Constant layoffs and constant churn. Lack of customer first commitment. Management has no CLEC experience and doesn't understand what it takes to run a CLEC. Earthlink higher ups constantly worry about numbers, from cold colds, new appts set, daily goals and filling your funnel. Training is substandard at best, mostly web-ex. There is a brain drain going on within the company, the best and the brightest are being driven out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop micro managing, allow people to do their job. The lack of utter respect and professionalism shown to your employees is incomprehensible. Stop hiring managers, Directors, VP with no CLEC experience, or no real experience at all. You are driving your best employees away.
