I have been working at Eastman Kodak full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Great working environment.
Incredible people.
Good benefits until bankruptcy.

Cons

Hockey stick KRIP retirement benefits unfair to workers laid off or sold off.
Many folks retirement plans have been dashed as portions of the company are sold off.
Long time employees just short of 30 years will recieve only about 1/2 of the retirement
benefit they planned on.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need a time machine to go back and fix the lack of vision which killed this company.

    I worked at Eastman Kodak full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great people (especially the rank and file people that have been there for a long time), great technology understanding, strong brand name, excellent customer base in graphics markets worldwide

    Cons

    Senior management has proven their inability to devise a winning strategy for the company. Graphics business (what will be left after emerging from bankruptcy) is chasing many dying markets (publishing, commercial printing, etc.) that are being attacked by all sorts of strong competition. Most of the top talent has left during the last few years of downsizings and Chapter 11 restructuring.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Find a partner to merge with that can integrate the great technology and products into a winning strategy. Allow the company to be run by a management team with a proven track record and a legitimate strategy for viability for the next 20+ years. Humility is not your strong suit - but for once, be humble, find a new business arrangement and step aside.

    Freedom to manage my work (mostly)

    Poor Leadership in upper management. company is overrun by "do-nothing" marketing people..

    Stop kowtowing to the Shareholders. Hire - so everyone can take a breather.
