Pros

For the right person that came from the right schools and/or the right connections, career opportunities are very good. As you move up the career ladder, the salaries and benefits get really good, after a certain level, it's TOO good.

Cons

Long hours, piss-poor management planning, no real chance for career growth for the majority of the employees.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit trying so hard to make the company "look" great instead of actually making it great. Forget about all the fake company videos forcing employees to put on a big smile for the camera when in reality there's little to smile about. Deal with real issues facing the little guy and they'll bend over backwards to make the company great for everyone. And quit forcing all this bogus ethical training on the little guy, they're the only ethical people in the company, if you want ethical behavior, better start sending people to training from the top down.

I worked at Eaton as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Very strong culture of empowerment. The management stimulates everyone to talk and propose their idea to improve how processes/tasks are performed. Further discussing about the culture, ethics is at the forefront of the activities of Eaton and the management strictly stick to the values of the company.

A lot of independence is given from day one.

There are many compulsory and optional training to take part in, some being face to face and others virtual.

    Cons

The plant in which I worked being a relatively new one, the activities "off-office" hours were relatively low.

During the end of the month, the workload could be quite challenging but manageable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Definitely introduce the option to have "off-office" activities more often.
