I have been working at Ecolab full-time for more than 8 years

Pros

Global, Stable, Still has a Pension Plan. If you like a corporate environment and politics to advance your career. Employees under the manager level are generally great to work with, and the real backbone of the company.

Cons

Pay is below market. Work/Life balance is not there. It can be hard to advance your career unless you can "work the system". Recent merger with Nalco has changed the culture for the worse. Cost cutting is not shared equally across the company.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work harder to promote and keep good talent.

    I worked at Ecolab full-time

    Pros

Good compensation, excellent global presence, most employees below a manager-level are quite competent and hard-working.

    Cons

Most jobs are held by men in upper management (director and higher) and these indivudals tend to stay at the company a long time (which is good, in a way) but this means upper progression by others (women or men) is limited.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Assess whether it makes sense to move new talent into upper management roles - you will gain some new insight and ideas.
