Pros

Opportunity to work at the world's biggest PR firm that will soon be a billion dollars in revenue and every company in the world has heard of this agency so it def helps to have this firm on your resume - that is about the pro to this firm -

Cons

I worked at this firm for more then 5 years - starting as an Account Executive and leaving as a VP - my experience and those around me had very similar experience - bad management, long hours- true sweat shop experience folks - nasty clients - all of the positive reviews you read have to be written by someone in communications for the firm - look closely at the dates - so so many on the same date - seriously? Every day - yelling from supervisors at staff, criticizing good work and them taking credit for it - disgusting -

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop thinking only about money for yourself - think and treat employees with respect, stop hiring your brothers, sisters, and children, and actually pay people what they deserve -

    Pros

At Edelman, you have access to interesting clients and budgets as well as the opportunity to make a name for yourself as an internal expert if you're willing and able to share your POV.

If you have a great manager, you'll have a great experience.

    Cons

It's a corporate job, with the corresponding structure and limitations. If you're part of the tech practice but aren't using the latest tech, it can make for a frustrating experience. Some of the tech platforms used day-to-day are ~3-5 years behind innovative companies. This lag is also reflected in the services offered to clients.

There's more variance in digital skills and a clear gap in what clients want, is sold in, and able to deliver, but that should iron itself out over time as more consultants develop digital expertise.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If mid-level management has three junior reports churn out within 9 months, you might want to figure out why.

Big picture agency-wise, you're evolving to meet market demands.
