I worked at Educational Testing Service full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - good pay and benefits, especially compared to adjuncting
    - relaxed atmosphere and supportive coworkers
    - generous vacation and PTO

    Cons

    - it's in a traffic black hole nowhere near public transportation - if you live in NYC or Philly, expect a 1.5-2 hour trip each way.
    - inconsistency and favoritism on things like telecommuting
    - resistant to technology, so if you stay there too long your skills won't be current
    - not too many chances to gain new skills or responsibilities that transfer - item writing could be the main thing you do for years

Adecco- Lots of micro-managing and no room for growth.

Current Employee - Customer Service Representative in Ewing, NJ

I have been working at Educational Testing Service full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I was hired through Adecco. They pay on time and every week. Some people are friendly. I'm lucky to have a nice department but there are individuals that ruin the nice experience. It's a good place to work if you can't find a job because they hire absolutely everyone. Of course, there are downsides to this as well.

I would recommend this to a friend as a last resort but only that.

    Cons

Low salary -- overworked and underpaid, no room for growth, corrupt inner-hiring system (people hire friends rather than who would do the job properly), talent is not recognized. Very frustrating when you are more intelligent than your boss. Many people at the Ewing office, at least, are not the brightest. Don't work here if you want to be challenged -- it's just repetitive busywork every day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire people who would do the job properly, not just people who are your friends. Reward those who deserve it and terminate those that need to be fired.
