Pros

The company has a very high ethical standard

Cons

The 'box' they do business in is relatively small. It can be outgrown easily.

    Pros

Very good opportunity if you have or are given the right set of circumstances. Excellent training provided for Series 7 & Series 66 Exams!

    Cons

If you don't have or are not given the RIGHT set of circumstances to build your business as New FA. you are at a significant hardship for succeeding no matter how good you are at building prospect/client rapport, knowing your stuff, knowing how to apply sales strategies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Correct the aforementioned cons.

I have been working at Edward Jones full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Autonomy and freedom as to the investments and clients I choose. My own office, assistant and strategies. Lots of help and support from the home office. No incentive to churn your friends and relatives.

    Cons

Regulations make the job nearly impossible, long hours, late nights, frustrating conversations with a support staff who is friendly but often you will hear 3 different answers to one question. An over-saturated market in my area- 4-5 jones offices within 2 miles.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

don't recommend an advisor open up shop when you've got 2 other offices down the street. Provide more marketing help, call lists in addition to door knocking.
