Pros

Job is commission only, so the earning potential is there but its a tough environment right now. There are alot of benefits for working with a private company and the culture is great.

Cons

Tough goals after a year or two. With economy in slump it is hard to make enough sales to meet current goals.

Advice to Management

Management is fair in most cases. It is a very close relationship between very successful long standing emplyees and even the newest employee which is nice.

    Pros

Was paid a salary during training (a joke) and studying for the Series 7, 66, and insurance exam. Free trip to Arizona to attend training classes or as I like to fondly refer to as a week of endless role playing with other poor shmucks involving various sales scenerios. If you like a cult like atmosphere and like being indoctrinated (the koolaid is served on a regular basis) you will truly find a home. Also, if you like to attend alot of indoctrination er training courses in the desert this is right up your alley.

    Cons

One word. Doorknocking. For two years you are expected to go doorknocking like an Avon lady in the hopes that some old lady hands over her money to a complete stranger standing on her doorstep. They tell you that you are starting YOUR business and then do nothing but tell you how to run your supposed business.

    Advice to Management

Just call it what it is. Pyramid selling. We,re all adults here. The assets are what matters and the FAs are expendable, unless that one is related or politically tied in and in that case I guess they already are aware of the structure.

    Pros

unlimited pay. be your own boss.

    Cons

Door- knocking. I didn't think this would be a big deal. But knocking in the winter, when your fingers are too cold to write information. Constant looks of disgust as you walk thru a neighborhood. It is disheartening to see how many people will actually hate you because you knock on peoples doors. People avoid you like the plague. Not easy to deal with.

    Advice to Management

Mgmt has done an excellent job thru the past financial fiasco.
