Management Lacking in Foresight and Leadership Skills

Staff Engineer (Former Employee)
Irvine, CA

ProsThe campus is nice and continuously improved
The products are good and you know you are helping patients every day
Co-workers are nice people

ConsPolitics are stifling the company, people get promoted without technical skills, more because the upper management 'likes' them
Managers don't know what they are doing and there is no way for them to learn how to improve themselves and develop their employees. Most managers are just looking out for themselves
Constant location shuffling of departments - major loss of productivity during each relocation

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn who the real workers are and reward them, not the 'face' of the projects. Politics are terrible and it will hurt the company in the long run. There are tons of talented people at Edwards, but they are buried under all of the levels of management. Stop overworking the engineers, it's too much.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
