Edwards is a great small-big company but struggles to think beyond "today"

I have been working at Edwards Lifesciences full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Growing organization, investing and developing. Working on improving processes. Learning how to be a "big" company.

Cons

Used to being a smaller/start-up company so processes and development pathways are not fully defined. Has a big of "old boys club" leadership mentality too.

I worked at Edwards Lifesciences as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Great company to work for, especially in the R&D department. Some of the best co-workers I've had as well.

    Cons

Didn't have a formalized intern development program like I've seen at other companies, but that is perhaps more related to being in Utah away from headquarters.

I worked at Edwards Lifesciences as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

Good cafeteria food - very healthy and wholesome choices
Some good people still in the company - they treat their senior management very well

    Cons

Employees are disposable and contract employees are usually kept on for 2 years, high job turnover rate, management doesn't want to encourage new ideas or employee advancement, and promotions seem to be based on politics not hard work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actively listen and help your employees achieve their goals.

    No opinion of CEO
