I worked at El Centro Regional Medical Center full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

A job. Some RN's great, friendly and helpful

    Cons

Unsafe care, these violations would be pointed out but nothing was done. They burn the fields after the crop is harvested, causing a brown atmospherics, this will cause problems if you have any type of respiratory issue. That same brown thick air is then pumped into patients rooms by antiquated window air conditioners. If you do not speak Spanish you are left out of most discussions that staff may be having when sitting around the nurses station. Management some good and some very very bad. Other RN's correcting you in front of a patient. To make it worse their solution was incorrect. .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to what your staff is telling you. There is nothing worse than management denying you told them something when you know you did, you have written notes to remind them again and again, and have others that overheard the phone call you made about the issue and they still deny being told.
