I worked at El Dorado County full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Location and good clinical peers. There is a new CEO and that may help with leadership.

    Cons

Management has historically lacked direction and makes "shoot from the hip" decisions, still in transition, poor communication and support of line staff. Much upheaval.

I worked at El Dorado County full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Well, if you live in the area, they occasionally have jobs

    Cons

Everybody is either a relative or married to somebody else who works there. People get their kids jobs and people stay there for decades sucking off the taxpayers...without providing any benefit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I get that a lot of the department heads and other leaders are elected, but the politics really gets in the way of doing anything for the county
