Pros

- This is a fun place to show up and work at everyday. The culture makes it enjoyable. They know how to have fun and isn't that a bonus often under appreciated...I've worked at places without a fun culture.

- The product seems to be well accepted in the market place. They are moving away from a pricey build model that requires expensive PS to also encompass a packaged and Cloud offering. This could and should be huge for the company.

- We seem to have some fun event planned every week to build company moral.

Cons

I have read what people call a less then seasoned executive staff. This could be true in some roles but certainly not in others. The President/COO and CTO as an example are as seasoned as anyone could expect. Some other roles this could be true in but then you could say this company allows you to advance your career that other companies may not be able to offer.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Read the feedback that has been left and make a business decision if what is said is accurate. keep in mind that usually unhappy employees (usually former employees) often are the one's who write in this forum.

Don't be afraid to grow through investment. Might not be the time to IPO but it seems like the Product could knock out some of the bigger competitors. A huge investment might be the thing that pushes EP to the next level.

I have been working at Elastic Path Software full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The entire technical team at this company is extremely talented: smart, knowledgeable, young, and driven/motivated. If you love the craft of agile software development you will love it here. There is a real "do it right the first time, no shortcuts" mentality. Great place to learn.

    Cons

Relatively low pay compared to many other software developer opportunities in Vancouver considering the high expectations. Depending on the team you're in, hours may not be very flexible and overtime is expected.

I worked at Elastic Path Software full-time

    Pros

Startup feel... if that's what you are into. Hires a lot of great people. Extremely dynamic workplace. A good place to gain experience, and to try on different positions/roles. Also, a good place to make contacts in the industry; within a couple of years, close to half of the people you first worked with will now be at various different companies around town.

    Cons

No work-life balance. Lots of travel (for certain positions), with no travel notice (ok, maybe a day or two)... the company owns you. They will call you a 'resource' and will treat you as such. You will always be working for impatient clients that will want the world and want it now and a company that will never push back and set expectations correctly (or worse, have EP as your client in product dev), so a constant cycle of overtime and fire-fighting (running around like chickens with their heads cut off) as deadlines approach. Constant shifting of teams and 'resources', so you'd better like change. Drink beer from their tap, but don't drink the kool-aide, this is at best a mediocre company that's just pretending to be the next best thing since sliced bread... something which they are clearly not.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn, grow up and listen to people more qualified/experienced than you. It's not helpful to keep changing company direction every few months (frequently back to what it was before). Own up to your mistakes and don't try to 'spin' everything... respect your employees (by being honest) if you want their respect.
