I have been working at Electronic Arts full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Big company, some job security, some great IP, opportunity to travel, smart people, forward thinking.

The company has a lot of great projects but is at risk of running out from not giving them room to grow

Cons

Slow to manoeuvre, bad PR at times. Company isn't in a great PR position at the moment which affects the morale of the staff.

I have been working at Electronic Arts full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Many individual studios in the mobile/social freemium space are great places to work. Colleagues generally are amazing. Mobility within the company seems high, and there are studios and offices in many cities around the world.

    Cons

EA has much of the dysfunction of a big organization without many of the synergies. Due to many acquisitions, not much of common platforms are shared across teams, which leads to inefficiency, and there are many, many rounds of layoffs each year to cut costs, leaving employees feeling insecure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't have a round of staff reduction followed immediately by another round just because the CEO has changed.

    Pros

Opportunity to work on high profile projects, corporate culture, good technology.

    Cons

Bureaucratic, plenty of blame shifting, difficult to get things done due to lots of stakeholders--pretty typical big company woes.
