    Pros

Great place for sucking up. If you can swallow your pride you can do well. Good place to gain experience then move on.

    Cons

Micromanaged beyond belief. Ambiguous and contradictory policies and procedures that can and will be used against you. Often working for someone who knows little about your job. Older employees are not valued. When you reach a point where your age and service time makes it less attractive to leave (golden-handcuffs) raises are shut off and they find any excuse to reduce your bonus. Performance management and the bell curve causes much backstabbing and false information.

    Advice to Management

Quit micromanaging. Cut out the management fat. We could do as well with 2/3's less management. Start valuing older employees. Ditch the performance management BS. It's extremely unfair if you work in a small department or workgroup.
