Pros

Tremendous people and institutional customers are gracious with their time. Marketing team is strong, sales team is unreal. Strong, smart. Company pays extremely well and bonuses are generous. Most of executive team is smart, friendly and passionate about higher ed.

Cons

Some management very tough. Unnecessarily so. Morale is a bit low on some teams because of certain individuals. Upper management should keep a close eye on morale.

Advice to Management

Talk to your employees and make sure they feel managers are providing guidance and not destroying morale. You have a classy and smart team. Support is needed. Some team members have low morale because of certain management.

    Pros

Flexibility, ability to work from home. Benefits are OK.

    Cons

Very high turnover, morale is very low, employees sound defeated. Training provided to sales teams is far from sufficient. New employees who are not equipped to succeed. Top heavy, too many VP positions created over the past two years at the time many employees were let go.

    Advice to Management

Stop creating VP positions. Hire more people, too many employees are burned out.

    Pros

Large company, trying to do the right things. Salaries in acceptable range. Remote/Telecommuting available.

    Cons

Too many mergers in past few years and a bad job of melding the different entities. Corporate direction is rudderless and seems to change every 18 - 24 months.

    Advice to Management

Figure out what you really want to do. Understand the dynamics of Higher Education and pick your niche. Either jettison the elements that don't fit the core competencies you decide you want, or re-organize into truly separate entities that are able to focus on their core competencies without the politics of "fitting" into whatever the current overall corporate "direction" is.
