Current Employee – been working at Elsevier full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – The Journal Production staff is overall a good group of people to work with. Benefits are competitive and you get a good amount of time off for vacation and sick days. When you need help getting things done, you can feel comfortable asking for it, but overtime is also awarded if the amount work you have justifies it.
Cons – The nature of serial publishing is that things can be stressful. The volume of email correspondence, the number of deadlines, the hassle of working with typesetters that are overseas... all of these things can add to your daily frustrations. Other departments like marketing and fulfillment are also difficult to work with.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
